Optician Guide

Designed for optimal vision in billiards, these billiard frames feature specialized lens positioning to accommodate extreme upper gaze during play.

Fitting Considerations

Frame Design: Elevates lenses for proper coverage in a shooting stance.

Fitting Process: Use a pool cue and table to simulate real play and assess upgaze needs.

Lens Positioning

Standard lift ensures coverage over the eyebrows.

Additional lift possible via nose pad adjustments or larger B-size lenses.

Lens Shape

Oval or rectangular lenses offer optimal coverage.

Workspace lenses with broad corridors and minimal distortion are recommended.

Standard Measurements

Lower lens mount: 10mm from the bottom edge.

Upper bridge mount: 26mm from the bottom edge.

Progressive fitting cross/seg height: 30mm.

Minimum B size: 44mm (44–48mm recommended).

Lens recommendation: Wide-corridor progressives (e.g., Nikon Workspace; Essilor Varilux Digitime; Shamir Workspace; Zeiss Officelens).

Rx parameters: Full distance prescription + half the total add (max +1.50 add).

Edge options: Polished or frosted.

Avoid anti-reflective coating (causes internal reflections).

Please Note

Shooting stance varies significantly between individuals, so it's important to assess how the eyewear aligns with each patient's posture. For accurate evaluation, have the patient bring their pool cue to the fitting appointment and if possible use a desk or table as the pool table. Position yourself opposite them to observe how the frame sits during their shooting stance.

Professional, competitive or younger pool players often drop their chin close to the cue, creating a pronounced upward gaze through the lenses. While the Ultimate Vision frame is designed to accommodate for this, additional vertical lens coverage may still be needed:

☑ Adjusting the nose pads can raise the frame by up to 4 mm.

☑ Alternatively, increase the B-size measurement by 4 mm for broader coverage.

Keep these adjustments in mind to ensure optimal lens positioning and visual performance during gameplay.

Setting Player Expectations

The overall goal of these glasses is to achieve a clear range of vision from slightly behind the back rail of the pool table to the player's bridge without having to have much head movement. They will not be useful as driving glasses or as readers for small print reading.
